I noticed you're not using a Ryobi electric chainsaw, smart! My Ryobi died when I tried to cut something larger than 2" of soft pine. There's a plastic piece inside that broke and though the motor runs and the chain is tightened on the gear, no movement. I'll never buy another piece of Ryobi, but instead go Dewalt, Milwaukee or Makita.

i found, when i attached to trees, that the trees became a structural liability real fast (part of why you set wallboards flush & found them separated in the 2nd video: trees wriggling in the wind & grinding yr structure around). now, i just build on stilts set into "shoes". 'course, that's not exactly a "treehouse" anymore so i just call it "the tower".
i have lotsa windows, too, but here's a fun one: you can find a hell of a lot of mirrors in the garbage over time & i've covered almost all the first floor walls & ceiling in them (wherever there isn't a window or some art), which really brightens it up & yields a lot of reflection fun like infinity hallways, one candle/17 reflections, sunrays between the boards coming in & bouncing around weirdly...great fun!

I would bolt all the way through the tree and use a large washer and nut on the inside (pre drill the holes using a drill a size or 2 smaller than the bolt dia so it fits tight. I'd put 2 bolts at each location (1 on top and 1 below)

Would enjoy finding Steve's property and go stealth camping there!!!

I know it's probably ideal to have the propane tank outside of the heated area, but I've never had any problems and I figure as long as the mister buddy isn't heating it directly it will keep the tank from freezing. A little heat is ok.

Does anyone really know how long it would take to cut all those trees by hand for a good size shelter especially if they're only 3 or 4 inches around. If you have electric chainsaw why not. And if you're not worried about being stealth a gas chainsaw would be even better.
