Next time you have a wasp problem, use soapy water to kill these. It works much better and isn’t toxic.

Great vid Steve. What was the thermacell product you used for wasps on the inside? I've never seen anything that took them out like that. We had a wasp problem last Spring and I want to avoid that issue this year. Thanks for the great ideas.

One thing I've learned about spraying wasps, hornets, and bees is that it's wiser to wait til dusk or after to spray their nests, because that's when they're asleep. I've sprayed a number of nests at night over the years, and I've never gotten stung once from it. : )

Dawn dish soap mixed with warm water in a pump sprayer will kills wasps really well. Stops them dead in their tracks.

When ever you fit a ceiling even on to a flat roof building, always make a little trap door in the ceiling... even if the cavity between the roof and ceiling is small. It allows you to quickly treat swarms of whatever that may want to nest in a ceiling. Here in Africa, bees can cause you nightmares and if you cant smoke them out... months of problems!

I used to have to take out wasp nests when i was a cable splicer up in a 28ft lader. Those sprays are surprisingly effective, no need to worry Steve.

So why not keep the Earth ship idea? If you do it correctly (arizona offers plans for free i think to most anyone) you have a near maintenance free, off grid, passive solar home. I would pay mucho dinero to have access to an earth ship home, pls look into it before you make the structure 'traditional'. Cheers!!

a less poisonous method for irradication of wasp. Hang baloney on toothpick centered on string hang over container of water surface tension. Add a couple drops of dishwashing detergent. Wasp eat until they fall in water sink and drown put baloney close enough to get in irradic flight path snd you get some random flight peripheral wasp in water to meet same end. This is very effective near home or in camps.

As much as I love your camping videos(obviously), I really enjoy any house update/house improvement videos you’re willing to show. Our goal within the next couple years is to stop renting and own some property with acreage and get away from city life. Ive Loved living in San Diego but we are SO sick of the cost of living and congestion. Crappy tiny condos are $450k and up so no one can buy anything. Being from NYC originally, I’ve always thought of myself as a city person who happens to love the outdoors but I’m beyond ready for more rural living

Living on a farm, we get at least one wasp nest every summer. That spray that shoots a distance is the BEST for sure, but I always do it at sunset when the wasps all go back into their nests.
