I've driven in 2 feet+ of snow in a front wheel drive Honda civic with no chains snow literally coming up the hood onto the windshield cars go through fresh powder much better than you'd think

In Australia, you only have to worry about the dingos. And besides nibbling your toes if you upset them you’ll be fine. Though if you see a “cougar” run for the hills and don’t look back! Unless it’s a Ford Cougar and just enjoy it’s mediocrity. (2000s model)

As an experienced camper specifically in the snow don't put your tent underneath a tree when it's going to snow. When that wind picks up or the temperature starts to melt that snow it will fall on your tent and tear it or collapse it.

Hey Steve just a tip. You can cook on the buddy heaters. The grate flips up for stuff like hot dogs and sausage. Pretty good at heating some soup or chowder too!! Hunker down!

can't say I like the words "all weather" on tires in this scenario. had to drive home from Ottawa to Massachusetts during a blizzard about a year ago in Ontario and Upstate NY in a rental front wheel drive with all weathers and hooooo boy was that fun (and slippery!), but thankfully made it back with no damage done. funny enough it that storm reminds me of the one we're having here right now. at least you had the AWD here!

As waterproof as a tent says it is or not I always bring a tarp that can cover it to keep rain / water out. Actually camped in some 90kph wind / heavy rain storms a few times ... not one drop of water got in. Was pretty impressed with myself.
